So I didn't blog every day like I said I would. And this is my last post for this blog. My summer got really boring and I didn't get everything I wanted to done. Including training. I really suffered through the beginning of the season due to that. I'm back on track now. Running well gearing up for the conference (Kawwwwwfrence) meet in a week and a half. Tapering now. Dropping back to about 60 miles a week. Ha. I was lucky to run 30 over the summer. Gonna keep up the hard work for track though.
School's not that bad this year. Sure it sucks having 4 science classes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday along with the labs on Monday and Wednesday, but it could be worse. Glad I'm getting it over now and not trying to drag it out. The only thing that's really gonna suck this year is the MCAT. I hate tests. This isn't my bitch blog though so I'll stop. All together though, this summer was pretty good. Looking forward to next year already. Come soon summer, I miss you.

Work
I started my new job this week. Monday to be exact. Well Tuesday if you want to be technical. I had orientation on Monday but we didn't do anything... Whatever. I started yesterday (Tuesday).
My job is simple. Put shit in boxes. You might be asking yourself, "But Matt, isn't that the exact job you had last year that you hated so much that you said you'd never go back there to work?" You'd be partially right. Now, I have to put bigger shit in bigger boxes and don't have a headset with Ronda in it to tell me where to put the shit. It's actually a lot freer (that's a really strange word) job than I had last year. Other than that I haven't been doing much of anything. Hopefully this weekend's eventful or I have some epiphany that lets me write in my other blog because I've kind of been neglecting it lately. I plan on playing Frisbee Friday but other than that I'm pretty open. We'll see though...

I'll take a 4th of Freedom, Please
This blog's taken a different turn. I'm going to keep trying to update as much as possible to keep updated but it's gonna start getting kind of boring since I'm settling down for the summer now.
Starting next week, I'll be working Monday-Thursday from 4-10 in the afternoon/evening/night. Hopefully that doesn't kill my social life the rest of the summer. On to today though.
I finished my book. Sorry. That's out of order but I'm excited about it. The Hunger Games. Great read. I finished the almost 400 page book in two days. Crazy. I was up till 4:30 last night and finished about an hour ago tonight. I'm so excited to get my hands on books two and three though. The story is amazing and I encourage anyone willing to put some time aside for a good read to dive headlong into the story of Panem.
Ok. Backing up to earlier today. Today was supposed to be busy. We were supposed to strip wallpaper in the kitchen. I made sure THAT didn't happen. Slept off and on most of the day. People came and went throughout the day and I was surprised by Cody Adler showing up in my house when I woke up one time. Other than that? Went to the river to meet up with some Teenpower people for the fireworks show then went to Sammi's house and swam a little with a slightly smaller group.
I'm very glad today was what it was even though it was uneventful. Not many more of these left this summer. Gonna have to relish the rest of this week...

Crazy, Mixed-Up Life
My plans change more than a girl trying on clothes! I'm back in Evansville for the rest of the summer, working on my research, working for money at maybe two jobs, and getting my ass in gear on my training which I've been slacking hardcore on this summer. It's so hard to get back into training after being injured and out of it for as long as I was. And even though I've got my initial injury fixed, I'm beginning to have other things pop up as I try to get back to running. The biggest issue is that my orthodics are pinching the hell out of my foot. Tried to get that fixed but it's not helping. I guess I'll try again. Need to get back in shape. Bad.
Middle School Teenpower just got over on Wednesday night. That was a crazy 3 days. Those kids are so unruly and don't give two shits what you say. I'm glad that the camp is only 3 days and not a full week like high school. This youth staff is good but the MS camp tried their patience with each other a little bit. They used to gel so well, but during and after this camp it seems like they are falling apart a little bit. Hopefully they can pull it together and have a good summer together.
I just got a job at TJ Maxx for the rest of the summer. I know I said I'd never go back, but I couldn't turn down $10 an hour. Might try to get a job at Sonic with Chris since he left Arby's in Ft. Branch and is the GM at the Sonic on Burkhardt now. We'll see if that even starts.
Other than that and finishing this project, I hope my summer's pretty chill. Lots of fun to come, hopefully.

Mid-Week Update
I know I haven't been blogging every day this week like I sort of promised I'd try to do. I could say that I sort of tried but that would be sort of lying. So I'm not going to do that. I've been tired and didn't feel like staying up to write about what has been making me tired. I'll recap the last few days though.
Monday
After I got to Chicago on Sunday after a stop at the Cooper residence in northern Indiana and went to the Cubs/Yankees game, I was beat and had a little sleep before my first day of work Monday. This was not what I'd expected at all. It was stressful. I was flustered. I was out of the loop. I didn't get to do any programing that I'd be involved in. I was all around pissed at what I had agreed to do for the next 10 weeks. It was that day that I pretty much decided that I was going to not stay up here all summer. I did get a run in and it was very quality.
Tuesday
Day 2 of work was a lot better. Stuff began to make sense but I was still behind. I still had feelings of not wanting to stay so I had a chat with Zach, my immediate boss in this endeavor, and laid it on the table that I'd probably be going home soon and not staying the duration of the summer. He wanted me to stay but knew that I had to do what needed to be done. Mainly that thing is the research project with the doctors in Evansville. I need to get that done by the end of the summer since I won't have time once school starts. Got a bike ride in on the Skokie Valley Bike Path. That thing is awesome! I wish Evansville, and even Indiana, would get their shit together and build something as awesome as that. There was an awful storm that rolled through the area and knocked our power out. I was worried for my turkey and milk I had in the fridge but it survived the power outage. I was beat again after all that.
Wednesday
Another day that was better yet. We had to work at Starbucks because our internet was out at the office. We got a lot done. I feel like I've helped get this team together and get stuff done. Compared to what was done when I got here, what we've gotten done in these past three days doesn't even come close to the volume that was accomplished in the 3 weeks or whatever the other interns had been here. Whatever. I'm leaving after this week anyway. I rode to work and back today so I didn't feel the need to actually run or ride extra. Plus my posterior pelvic bones that sit on the seat were sore. I did eat an entire box of shells and cheese tonight, including some on two slices of bread. Would have been a great sandwich with some ham or bacon. Now I'm just waiting out the rest of the week, waiting to go home now. My Chicago visit was short lived but well worth it.

Cant say I didn't warn You
This post is gonna be long because it's covering days (21)-(30).
(21)-(24) were Teenpower week and (25) was "rest up for a day of driving to Florida" day. So here goes for Teenpower.
This year was pretty amazing. It went back to the 5 day camp like normal but started on a Sunday this year. The kids this year, campers and youth staff, were phenomenal. I got to dress as a Na'vi and Waldo. All-in-all it was a very successful week. I was gonna go into more detail, but it's not really necessary. Great kids, great times. That's pretty much it.
Now Florida. It was a lot of just going to the pool and hanging out. We went to Sea World on Tuesday and got security called on us on Wednesday. We got a free go-cart ride on Thursday and all was good. Very relaxing week with some alright people. Haha. It would help if most of the people weren't women and at least one of them was on her period. Whatever. It was fun.
Now I've got to go to bed because I'm getting up early to run and go to Chicago. Hopefully I'll keep a better log of my days from now on.

(20)
I'm bored out of my mind right now sitting at the doctor's office. Haven't done anything all day and the internet's getting tiresome, plus I'm not going to do anything worthwhile after I leave here since I got my Lego done last night. (it's awesome by the way) The only thing I'll be doing tonight is running or riding, haven't decided which yet, and possibly cleaning my room a little and packing for TP.
As I've said, today was worthless. I sat here in this room all day on the computer. Didn't even get my book out. Stayed on the internet all day waiting for kids to come in for the research study. Not a single one. Wasted day in my book, even though I did get a blog post up on my other blog.
I need to get some stuff together for TP. Haven't even started. Should be a fun week next week. I'll be sure to record the highlights and then post them here later. Can't think of anything else of importance just now except that I should be getting my interview for the Chicago job some time this weekend. Other than that, I'll post some time next week if I get a chance. If not, it'll be hello from Florida.
